About the company
Who you're hiring
Mid Missouri Forestry Mulching is a forestry mulching contractor based in Salisbury, MO across Carroll County, Chariton County and Cooper County. Call (660) 900-2256 to talk through a project.
Mid Missouri Forestry Mulching is run by Roy Brackett under RL Brackett & Sons, LLC, out of a shop in Salisbury. They clear cedar, bush honeysuckle, multiflora rose and volunteer brush that take over pasture, timber edge and fence lines, using one tracked machine that cuts and grinds the material where it stands.
Nothing is piled, burned or hauled off; the ground material stays as a mulch layer over intact sod, which helps on bluff ground and creek draws. The work is selective, so trees the owner flags on the walk-through stay standing. Boone County is their core market, and they cover ten counties in mid-Missouri.
- Ground where it standsCutting and grinding happen in one pass, so there are no burn piles, burn permits or dump fees.
- You pick what staysWhite oaks, shade trees and road screens get flagged on the walk-through and the machine works around them.
- Quoted on the groundThe estimate comes from walking the property, not an acreage guess, and the number given is the number paid.
- Walked again before load-outThey walk the finished work with the owner so anything missed is handled while the machine is still there.

Questions
Practical answers before you call
Straight from Mid Missouri Forestry Mulching's own published answers.
Ask them directlyHow is forestry mulching priced?
By the acre, depending on how thick the growth is, stem size, how steep or wet the ground is and travel distance. They quote it free on site, and the number you get is the number you pay.
Does forestry mulching leave stumps?
A low stump remains where larger stems were, usually mulched flat enough to walk, mow and drive over. Where ground must be completely clean, such as a building pad or ground to be tilled, they pull small trees root ball and all.
Will mulching get rid of honeysuckle and cedar for good?
Cedar does not resprout once cut. Bush honeysuckle and multiflora rose do come back from the stump, so plan on a follow-up visit or a herbicide program if you want them gone permanently.
Which counties do they serve?
Boone, Carroll, Chariton, Cooper, Howard, Linn, Livingston, Macon, Randolph and Saline counties in Missouri. Boone County is their core market, and travel time is part of the quote.
When is the best time to clear land in mid-Missouri?
Late fall through early spring is often a good window because less foliage makes vegetation easier to see, though wet or thawing ground can limit access. Summer work is possible too; they recommend timing after seeing the property.
How do I get an estimate?
Call or text (660) 900-2256 or use the form on their website. Estimates are by appointment, free, and given on site after they walk the property with you.
